PALS Photo Contest
The PALS photo contest is open to any current PALS student or faculty. Employees of the National Center for Smart Growth are ineligible.
Applicants can enter as many times as they’d like throughout the semester. To enter, simply tweet, Instagram or e-mail your photo to the following addresses below. Include your name, your PALS course and one sentence about what is happening in the photo.
Enter three ways:
- Instagram: #UMDPALS
- Twitter: #UMDPALS, tagging us @PALSUMD
- E-mail: email@example.com, subject line, “photo contest”
Winners will be chosen each semester. The first semester contest ends at Midnight, December 19, 2016. A second contest will run in spring, 2017 (dates to follow).
A panel of judges comprised of members of the PALS advisory board (independent campus thinkers unaffiliated with the participating colleges), the University communications department, the University photographer and NCSG staff will blindly judge entries on originality and content. Quality of the photograph is important but will not be a key determination in the winners. Group entries are allowed.
Because of the nature of the projects some of our courses address, we recommend you use common sense and full disclosure when taking pictures. Photos of children are prohibited. Make sure to secure the expressed consent of any human subjects prior to submitting a photograph. All entered photos become the property of the Partnership for Action Learning in Sustainability (with full credit to the student entrant). We may request high-res versions of your photo at a later date. All photos are eligible for use in communications and marketing materials for PALS.
Questions about the photo contest can be sent to Maggie Haslam, PALS Communications, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
